Our chambers of commerce play a vital role in sustaining strong and prosperous communities by delivering focused technical assistance and advocacy efforts that empower businesses with critical resources and presenting beloved community events and destination marketing campaigns that boost our local economies.

To build on this important work, the Lakeview and Roscoe Village chambers of commerce have become one organization. This will strengthen our ability to provide enhanced services to more than 1,500 local businesses and expand neighborhood programming and events that give residents even more reasons to love where they live.

When was the merger completed?

Effective January 1, 2021, the Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce is now serving Lakeview and Roscoe Village, uniting both communities behind a common chamber of commerce. You can learn more about our recent announcement here.

Why have the Lakeview and Roscoe Village chambers of commerce come together?

Merging the Lakeview and Roscoe Village chambers of commerce represents a one-of-a-kind opportunity to strengthen our future, ensuring that we are well-positioned to serve the communities we represent for years to come. Lakeview and Roscoe Village are two historically-interconnected neighborhoods that share many similar interests. Our chambers shared a border along Ravenswood Ave. and collaborated on many programs, and our businesses attract customers from both Lakeview and Roscoe Village. Some of the many benefits of merging include:

  • Presenting more community programming and business services in both Lakeview and Roscoe Village, including the potential to expand popular events like the Low-Line Farmers Market and PorchFest Lakeview and provide new small business workshops and consultations.

  • Becoming more effective advocates for our communities and the businesses that call Lakeview and Roscoe Village home, with a combined roster of more than 400 members working together to support a stronger business environment.

  • Increasing our organization’s capacity, allowing us to better serve our businesses and residents by growing our staff and building a highly-specialized board of directors.

  • Fostering greater connectivity between Lakeview and Roscoe Village, identifying and promoting more opportunities for community members to support one another and the businesses within both neighborhoods.

  • Celebrating the unique attributes that make Lakeview and Roscoe Village two of Chicago’s most sought-after neighborhoods, building on the similarities shared by both communities while continuing to promote the distinctiveness of each community.

What is the name of the combined chamber of commerce?

The Lakeview Chamber of Commerce has merged with the Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce, becoming the Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce (LRVCC). What is the service area of the chamber?

The Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce serves the area bounded by the Chicago River on the west and Racine Ave. on the east. West of Ravenswood Ave., our service area extends from Diversey Pkwy. on the south to Addison St. on the north. East of Ravenswood Ave., our service area extends from Diversey Pkwy. on the south to Irving Park Rd. on the north. View a map of our service area here.

How will the merger impact Chamber members?

Members stand to benefit the most from the merger by gaining access to a larger knowledge-base of more than 400 fellow member businesses and additional chamber staff with specialized skills and expertise. Other member benefits include:

  • Expanded complimentary educational programming, including a multi-week Marketing Mania series, Grow with Google partner programming and new community roundtables focused on diversity, equity and inclusion.

  • Free social media marketing for an expanded network of businesses, including more than 30,000 combined followers across both Lakeview and Roscoe Village social media channels.

  • Exclusive opportunities to participate in and sponsor joint programming in both Lakeview and Roscoe Village to connect with the community and increase potential customer reach.

  • Ribbon cutting ceremonies offered to new businesses or in celebration of a new service at an existing member business, including free professional event photography as well as social media event coverage.

  • Direct business-to-business referrals to a larger membership base and monthly networking opportunities, including Coffee & Commerce and Business Socials.

How do I join the Chamber?

Members of the Lakeview and Roscoe Village chambers of commerce are now members of the Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce (LRVCC). Businesses from Lakeview and Roscoe Village can join the Chamber here.

Renewing members will receive an invoice with instructions on how to pay their membership fees ahead of their renewal date. We’ll honor existing member pricing for all current Lakeview and Roscoe Village chamber of commerce members through the end of 2021, so members can continue to pay the same price they’ve come to expect while receiving enhanced member benefits and more personalized attention.

Community Survey & Focus Groups

The Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce received nearly 200 responses to a survey released on December 2, 2020 asking community members about how the Chamber can best serve our communities. We’ll use the data gathered through this survey and through other engagement methods to inform the approach we take to our work.

In addition to this survey, we also hosted a series of four virtual focus groups in early 2021 to gather feedback from more than 30 community members.
